Terms and conditions

Draft for legal review. Parts marked [ABOGADO: …] will be completed and validated by a lawyer under Mexican law before launch.

1. Who we are

eat4life is a streak loyalty program for independent cafés and restaurants in Mexico City. [ABOGADO: legal name, RFC, address and legal contact.]

2. Your account

You sign in with your email (code or link) or Google; cafés can also use a password. You’re responsible for what happens with your account. [ABOGADO: minimum age, minors and account closure.]

3. Streaks, points and rewards

Streaks, points and rewards aren’t money, can’t be exchanged for cash and can’t be transferred. Each spot sets its reward. [ABOGADO: validity, program changes and what happens if a spot leaves eat4life.]

4. Content you post

This applies to reviews, threads, replies, photos and reactions in the community:

  1. You keep ownership of what you post. You give eat4life permission to show it on the site and app while it stays published. [ABOGADO: scope and term of the license.]
  2. You’re responsible for what you post: it must be yours, real and not violate anyone’s rights.
  3. Only people with a recorded visit at the spot can post reviews ("Verified visit"). One review per person per spot, editable.
  4. Not allowed: insults, discrimination, harassment, spam, ads, external links (except Instagram and maps), third-party personal data, HTML or code.
  5. The eat4life team can hide posts that break the rules and temporarily suspend accounts. Anyone can report. [ABOGADO: appeal procedure.]
  6. Spot owners can reply once to each review and report it, but can’t delete or hide it.
  7. Photos are resized and converted to WebP when uploaded, without camera location data. Don’t upload photos of people without their consent.
  8. You can delete your threads and replies anytime. [ABOGADO: retention period and backups.]

Day-to-day guidelines are in the community rules.

5. Liability

[ABOGADO: limitation of liability, service availability and force majeure.]

6. Governing law

[ABOGADO: governing law (Mexico), competent courts and changes to these terms.]
